Jesuit Circuit & Iguazu Falls
Jesuit Circuit
Paraguay’s Jesuit Circuit consists of the Jesuit ruins and Jesuit towns. While visiting the remains of the Jesuit reductions is a highlight, visiting the smaller Jesuit towns and museums offers visitors a unique perspective and appreciation of the Jesuit missions. Combining a trip to the ruins with a stop in one or two of the Jesuit towns provides a good sense of the cross-cultural nature of the Jesuit art and architecture, as well as the legacy of the missions in Paraguay.
- Jesuit ruins: La Santísima Trinidad de Paraná, Jesús de Tavarangue, San Cosme y Damian
- Jesuit towns: San Ignacio, Santa Maria de Fe, Santa Rosa
Iguazu Falls
Named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1984, Iguazu Falls are one of the most impressive sights in the world. More than 275 cascades spread across a gulf of nearly two miles. Absolutely breathtaking!
Since most of the falls are on the Argentinean side, the best panoramic views are from the Brazilian side. Visitors are able to explore a full day, stand directly over the falls of the Devil's Throat, take walkways at the foot of some of the cascades, and experience the powerful rush of water and mist of the falls from the Argentinean side.
